Brake Anchor Pins Removal Procedure

To effectively remove brake anchor pins, begin by taking off all lock ring retainers. Next, position the Ball Joint Press over the brake spider and tighten the Jackscrew until the anchor pins are released. When it’s time to install the brake anchor pins, simply insert them back into place and reattach the lock ring retainers. Lastly, unscrew and take off the Ball Joint Press.

Removing Ball Joints: A Step-by-Step Guide

1. Start by assembling the Ball Joint Press onto the vehicle's control arm. Choose the appropriate size Receiving Tube and position it beneath the ball joint.

2. Introduce the Removal Adapter between the Receiving Tube and the Jackscrew.

3. Following that, place the Installation Adapter between the top of the ball joint and the Ball Joint Press.

4. Tighten the Jackscrew until it makes contact with the vehicle's control arm.

5. Confirm that all parts of the Ball Joint Kit are properly aligned and continue to tighten the Jackscrew until the ball joint is fully removed.

Installing a New Ball Joint

Before inserting the new ball joint, ensure that the vehicle's control arm is cleaned and smear a light lubricant on the inner diameter. Insert the replacement ball joint straight into the control arm. Next, fit the Ball Joint Press over the control arm and select the right size Receiving Tube, positioning it atop the arm.

Place the Installation Adapter between the Receiving Tube and the Ball Joint Press, and the Removal Adapter between the ball joint and the Jackscrew. Again, ensure all components are aligned before tightening the Jackscrew until the new ball joint has been fully installed.
